COLLABORATIVE BRIEF//TED BAKER//ITALIAN VOGUE RESEARCH//OUGD503

ITALIAN VOGUE RESEARCH:
As we want to create a strong connection to our Italian audience we have decided to take the route of creating a stylish high end fashion look book/publication.  To start designing this I first looked at high end fashion magazine Vogue in Italia to see what kind of layout and design they stick to when creating the magazine.

A lot of focus on each page was on high end fashion photography, that covers across either the entire page or a double page spread, this is something I will try and incorporate in the look book with photographs hopefully being the main focus.
Photograph taking up entire page, something that is popular amongst high end fashion magazines, allows to show off clothes and gives full impact of fashion shoot on a larger scale, scaled down photograph would not have quite the same effect.
Majority of the page being taken up by the photograph, boarder around the photograph on the left hand side in order to allow space for any information about the clothing etc. at the bottom, this is something I will think about when putting the publication together.
I noticed in the magazine a lot of serif font was used, I think a serif font will be a good idea when creating the look book as its associated with a timeless look, high end fashion and in some ways elegance, I definitely think this is more suited to a quality fashion publication than a sans serif type face that could look to clean and modern against the photographs.
Black and white images is something Sophia and I think would work well for our concept, especially trying to imitate high end Italian fashion, this is something that we want to consider, however, we have to think about whether that would be suitable for the product as the customers need to be able to see the clothing collection in colour to know exactly what the products being sold look like.
