DESIGN FOR PRINT AND WEB//FINAL CRIT PRESENTATION BOARDS//OUGD504

PRESENTATION BOARDS FOR FINAL CRIT:

SLIDE ONE//NOTES:  Talk about original brief and my re written brief, how I linked original brief to London Sixties Week.  Looked into Sixties design, music posters etc.  Looked at lyrics from the Sixties and typography design.
SLIDE TWO//NOTES:  London Sixties week, the events it holds, music events, photography exhibitions, galleries, tribute acts, cinema etc.  Researched into the biggest artists of the sixties, the most popular songs and icons.
SLIDE THREE//NOTES:  Original idea, looking at album art work, silhouettes of iconic portraits from the sixties cut out of famous album art work.  First idea to have a set of posters, four individual posters of each Beatle, each one with a silhouette from album art work featuring a song that was featured on the album and written or sung by that member.  Explored type for Jimi Hendrix poster, colourful, warped style.  Talk about the crit and how I needed to progress further, needed to develop the starting point, was suggested to re brand London Sixties Week, I then created a logo for the start of the rebranding.
SLIDE FOUR//NOTES: Mock ups for website, featuring a homepage, an events page, a page to sign up and find out all the latest events and an about page to inform people about what the actual event is.
SLIDE FIVE//NOTES: Final products of rebranding that I developed from the progress crit, using different processes such as screen printing and laser cutting.
